Clubs on Campus
SFCA has various opportunities for students to participate in clubs and organizations on campus. These opportunities are important because they provide our students a chance to participate in activities, interact with peers in a supervised setting, and form relationships with fellow students and adults outside the classroom walls. Membership in these various organizations allow students to develop their skills and interests in areas outside of academia to fully prepare them for their future endeavors!
Middle School Clubs
Middle School Clubs meet biweekly with session one clubs meeting one week and session two clubs meeting on the alternating week. Students may participate in either session one or session two or they can choose two clubs and participate in both sessions. Session one offers two clubs – Christian Leadership in Sports/Sports Talk Club & Book Club. Session two offers three clubs – Board Game Club, Bible Study Club – Girls Only, & Bible Study Club – Boys Only.
Christian Leadership in Sports/Sport Talk Club
This club will look at Christian leaders in the college and professional sport arena and how they share their faith and display Christian character on and off the fields and courts. How this can be applied at the middle school level and the opportunities that students have to share their faith with words and actions during their sport season will also be discussed. Time at the end of each meeting will be committed to general “sport talk” about current sporting events (middle school, high school, college, and professional).
This session the club will be reading and discussing The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis. Each time the group meets they will share what they’ve learned through the chapters as well as how Lewis has interwoven biblical principles into the story line.
Bible Study Club – Girls Only
This session the girls will be completing the Defined – Who God Says You Are study by Priscilla Shirer. This study challenges girls to find their worth by studying the scriptures to see how uniquely they are created. It digs into their struggles and searches for solutions in God’s Word. Girls are challenged to encouraged one another and to be each other’s biggest cheerleaders. A time of prayer will be part of each session as well.
Bible Study Club – Boys Only
This session the middle school boys Bible study will emphasize building Christian leaders within our school with a focus on multiple topics that will help them understand the importance of biblical manhood. It will be a safe area for young men to seek help, guidance and feel a sense of purpose while tackling the day-to-day struggles of being a Christian man. When it’s all said and done, it will be the victories through Jesus Christ that will be celebrated.
Board Game Club
This club is designed to allow students to slow down and have some fun while enjoying some non-electronic games together. Over twenty different card games and board games are available for students to choose to play, and they will be able to break into smaller and larger groups (depending on the games they choose). Longer games (Life, Monopoly, Payday, etc.) can be continued at the next session and shorter games (Trouble, Sorry, Uno, Jenga, etc.) can be played over and again as time permits.
