Amanda Sabean – Class of 2018

Grades attended at SFCA
K-12

Did you attend college after SFCA? If so, where?
I attended the University of South Florida

What is your current career?
SFCA 4th Grade Teacher

What is a special memory you have from your time at SFCA?
It's hard to pick one memory from 13 years at SFCA as a student. I really loved being in band, though. It was absolutely ridiculous and wild all the time, and it was always the highlight of my day. It hardly felt like a class because it was just so fun to be there every single day.

Describe one of your favorite teachers and the impact that this person had in your life - or perhaps a specific example of a way this teacher cared for you in a special way.
Ms. Amy Magsig was the best teacher I've ever had. She cared about her students in such a genuine, loving way. She was there for me the day after I had a relative pass away, and I spent hours crying and laughing with her during her time at SFCA. She's also a little crazy in the best way, which made her classes super fun.

How do you feel SFCA prepared you in college as well as for God's call in your life?
SFCA challenged me and pushed me to be the best I could be. I feel like it made the transition to college a little easier because they had already helped develop my work ethic and prepped me for more rigorous classes. SFCA and it's teachers also led me to salvation when I was a child, which completely changed the direction my life could have gone in. They led me to the Lord and helped me establish a relationship with him, so when I was thrown into a public, worldly college environment, I had a firm foundation to keep me strong in my faith.

Are there any other special updates you would like to share with us?
I am going into my second year as a 4th grade teacher at SFCA! They sent me off to college, but I just couldn't stay away.
