The 6-Step Application Process for Kindergarten through 12th Grade

For preschool children (6 weeks old to age 5), please visit our Preschool page for application information.

We begin accepting applications every year at our November Open House. In 2024, that event will be held on Nov. 12. At the conclusion of our Open House, you can apply online for the 2025-2026 school year. We recommend applying early because many grades have wait pools.

Kindergarten students must be 5 years old by Sept. 1 to be enrolled, and first-grade students must be 6 years old by Sept. 1.

Follow these steps for enrollment:

1.

Learn About Admissions Qualifications

Agree with Statement of Faith, meet testing and grade requirements, and provide references and recommendations.

2.

Schedule a Tour

Experience our Christian environment firsthand, explore classrooms, and meet students and teachers.

3.

Apply and Submit Documents

Upload a current report card or transcript.

4.

Take an Entrance Assessment

For kindergarten, we use a developmental readiness test that measures developmental skills such as manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination, as well as cognitive skills such as counting and letter recognition. For first through 12th grade, we test students in reading, math, and math computation.

5.

Arrange a New Family Interview

Each family meets with the appropriate principal to ensure there’s alignment between home and school.

6.

Accept an Offer and Enroll

Once your child is offered a chance to enroll, you’ll need to complete an enrollment packet, pay the enrollment fee, and set up your Facts Family Portal to include your tuition and continuous enrollment agreement.

Secure a Spot for Your Child

While we would love to welcome every qualified student, we do have wait pools for several grades.

We are currently accepting applications for the open grades shown below. Once the grades are at capacity, applications move to the wait pool, which is an unranked group of prospective students. As space becomes available in a classroom, a member of the wait pool will be offered a place in the class.

Your wait pool application is valid for one application cycle, and you’ll need to re-apply each school year if an offer is not made.

“Absolutely a 5-star experience with the entire admissions process! Every staff interaction was excellent, from our tour and acceptance process to admissions testing and the new family interview. The financial aid process was smooth and comprehensive. Staff communication always anticipated our needs and questions. The Open House for new high school students was so thoughtful, especially the connection with other students as they helped find each classroom before the first day of school.”

Frequently Asked Questions

How do you integrate Christian values at SFCA?

We believe the Bible is the absolute truth, and a biblical worldview is integrated into everything we teach. We welcome families from more than 100 churches who agree with the SFCA  Statement of Faith.

What are school hours?

School starts at 8 a.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. We start at 9 a.m. on Wednesdays. Grades K-5 are dismissed at 3 p.m., while older students are dismissed at 2:50 p.m. You’ll find more details about our schedule — including before and after school care — on our Parent Resources page.

Is it difficult to get accepted?

We welcome as many qualified students as we can, but many of our grade levels fill quickly. For the past few years, we have reached full enrollment within 24 hours of opening applications.

Do you offer financial aid?

We do offer financial aid, but many of our families find the most benefit from applying for a Step Up for Students scholarship. We typically open applications for the scholarship in January, and enrollment remains open as long as our funding lasts.

Does your preschool offer full- and part-time options?

Parents can choose either a 3-Day or 5-Day program to fit their child’s learning needs and their family’s schedule.

  • 3-Day Program (M/W/F) , 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • 5-Day Program (M-F), 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
